In our Torel 1884 Suites & Apartments, a hotel in the center of Porto, silk (sedas in Portuguese) is found on the handmade handles and on the wardrobe doors, made with silk bamboo canes.

Seda is a protein fiber, used in the textile industry and obtained from the cocoons of Bombyx mori (silkworm).

Seda was considered the most valuable commodity in China, and it was due to this fiber that the famous “Silk Road” was created, the most important trade route in the 19th century.
