Double Superior Tabaco
Our Double Superior Tabaco room, connected to the Double Deluxe Cana-de-açúcar Room, interprets the tobacco leaf, coming from North America and Central America.
In this luxurious room, the predominant color is emerald, red on the walls, which, in turn, are decorated with moldings worked in cane, with brownish patterns inside.
Tobacco is also represented in a painting by Jorge Curval, which depicts Queen Victoria surrounded by cigars, as these were the only solution to her severe migraines.
Please also check the other rooms in the Double Superior category: #12 Tapetes.
With more than fifty different species, tabaco is a nicotinic plant, with “nicotine tabacum”, originating in America, being the most sought after.
The use of the substance spreads across Europe, due to the supposed therapeutic value attributed to it in its early days.
