TABACO

Our Double Superior Tabaco Room, connected to the room Double Deluxe Cana de Açucar, interprets the tobacco leaf, from North America and Central America.

In this luxurious hotel room, the predominant color is the emerald red of the walls, which, in turn, are decorated with frames crafted from cane, with brownish patterns inside.

Tobacco is also represented in a painting by Jorge Curval, which depicts Queen Victoria surrounded by cigars, as these were the only solutions to her severe migraines.

With more than fifty different species, tobacco is a nictinic plant, with “nicotina tabacum”, originating in America, being the most sought after.

The use of the substance spread throughout Europe, due to the supposed therapeutic value attributed to it in its early days.
